DAY 1 : 02 June 2022
Arrive Hobart
You are met by your Travel Director at Hobart airport and transferred to your hotel. Perhaps enjoy a stroll around Constitution Dock or along the Derwent River. Later we meet for a Welcome Drink at our hotel.

DAY 2 : 03 June 2022
Bruny Island
This morning after breakfast, meet your Travel Director in the foyer before heading across to the historic Hobart Docks to begin your gourmet day tour of Bruny Island. Today you’ll take in spectacular landscapes, walk upon deserted beaches and taste delicious local produce from across the island. Enjoy a delicious lunch with local wine, beer or cider at Pennicott’s beachside restaurant with sweeping views of Adventure Bay, meet the producers and farmers across the island as you hear their stories and try cheeses, freshly shucked oysters, handmade fudge, honey, wine and more! Make Travel Matter as your Pennicott Wilderness guide will discuss the many important conservation projects that are taking place on the island to ensure this natural environment remains as pristine in years to come as it does today. This afternoon, you’ll make your way back to Hobart for a free evening at leisure for you to explore.

DAY 3 : 04 June 2022
Salamanca Markets & MONA

This morning we wake up to the sights, sounds and flavours of Salamanca Market! Explore the market stalls and wander through the historic sandstone warehouses discovering innovative Tasmanian arts and crafts. Travel to New Norfolk following the River Derwent to the Agrarian Kitchen Eatery for lunch with a winter theme (subject to availability). Later we visit the iconic Museum of New and Old Art, a privately funded collection by David Walsh. Take your time wandering among the unusual exhibits, hear an overview of the various artworks and at your leisure, catch a ferry back to Hobart, where the rest of the day is free.

DAY 4 : 05 June 2022
Hobart - Strahan

This morning head west to New Norfolk and the magnificent Mt Field National Park. Join your Travel Director for a stroll through the lush rainforest to the spectacular three-tiered Russell Falls. Continue along the winding road to iconic Lake St Clair. Pass through the eerie moonscape of the mining town of Queenstown and on to coastal Strahan. Dinner is included at our hotel tonight.

DAY 5 : 06 June 2022
Strahan - Cradle Mountain

A highlight today is your cruise on the Gordon River. Be awestruck by the dark waters, stained amber by Button-grass tannins, which reflect the untouched wilderness. Stop at Sarah Island for an insight into a relic of Tasmania’s convict history, and see Hells Gates, the notoriously treacherous entrance to the harbour. This afternoon pass through the mining towns of Rosebery and Tullah as you travel to your hotel nestled within breathtaking alpine forest at the northern end of sensational Cradle Mountain National Park. Dinner is at the hotel this evening.

DAY 6 : 07 June 2022
Cradle Mountain

This morning you’ll marvel at the inspiring beauty of Cradle Mountain National Park. Join your Travel Director for a guided walk by Dove Lake. You may spot Bennett’s wallabies, echidnas and pademelons grazing along the way. The afternoon is at leisure to enjoy more of the park on your own. This evening enjoy a special behind the scenes visit to the Devils@Cradle to learn about this rescue centre devoted to saving the endangered Devils. Meal(s): Breakfast.

DAY 7 : 08 June 2022
Cradle Mountain - Freycinet National Park

We travel through the Meander Valley to the historic city of Launceston. Emerge yourself in Launceston’s magnificent Cataract Gorge on a guided walk, before taking a scenic drive through the Tamar Valley's rolling hills for lunch and a wine tasting at Josef Chromy Wines. After lunch we head to Freycinet National Park via a short visit to the Bay of Fires. Dinner is included at the lodge this evening.

DAY 8 :  09 June 2022
Freycinet National Park
We experience a four-hour lunch cruise along the coast of the stunning Freycinet Peninsula.
This cruise will take you from the gentle shores of Coles Bay past towering pink granite cliffs to the famous Wineglass Bay, a flawless crescent of dazzling white sand. Then take in views from the Cape Tourville Lookout and a guided walk. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

DAY 9 : 10 June 2022
Freycinet National Park - Hobart

Travel through the Midlands, stopping in historic Ross, renowned for being both the finest nineteenth-century village in Australia, and for its Scallop Pies! Heading south, we make our way back to Hobart and check into our hotel. This evening we come together for a Farewell Dinner at one of Hobart's popular restaurants!
